Far East Coast Tasmania Tour and Bay of Fires

Pick Up Launceston 8.00a.m.

Return Launceston 5.00p.m. (aprox)

Day 1

  • Your tour takes you through pastoral countryside of Scottsdale and on to Derby a small mining town steeped in history during the gold and tin mining era of the early 1800's.
  • Your private tour then takes you  to Eddystone Point Lighthouse a 42 metre-high granite lighthouse situation on the beautiful Bay of Fires. Here is also  a  great view of what was once the land bridge joining Tasmania to mainland Australia. The islands are the peaks of mountains across the landmass Aboriginal tribes would have used to cross to Tasmania from the mainland tens of thousands of years ago. There will be plenty of time to stroll along the magnificent Bay of Fires Beach with incredible sand dunes and the squeaky white sand and turquoise coloured water.

  • We will then make our way to Mt. William National Park which is an important sanctuary for the Forester (or eastern grey)  wombats, Bennetts wallabies and Tasmanian pademelons are also common.

  • Your night's accommodation would be on a Cattle Farm called ICENA self contained accommodation just on the edge of the Mt William National  Park.

Day 2

  • Your last day of tour is back to Launceston. On our way we will call into Barnbougle/Lost Farm Golf Course for morning tea and great views over the rinks and to Bass Strait. I will then take you into the  beautiful coastal town of Bridport before making or way to a Pipers Vineyard for lunch and a wine tasting and Jansz and our way through the country village of Lilydale where we will call into the Lilydale Providore for more wine and whiskey tasting should you wish.
