- Your private tour begins from your cruise ship with a short city tour of Hobart and then out to historic Richmond a quaint Georgian Village .Here you can visit many of the beautiful art and craft galleries as well as a visit to the oldest operating catholic church in Australia as well as the oldest convict built bridge in Australia.
- Your tour takes you through historic village of Oatlands, which was established as an administrative centre in the 1820s, "a town built to become the interior capital of Van Diemen's Land" It has over 80 historic sandstone buildings mainly convict built which are now art and craft stores as well as cafes.
- Our visit is also focused on the Callington Mill, built in 1837 and you can join a 40 minute tour
including climbing the mill tower (if you wish) and enjoy the tales of
how wheat growing was once a vital industry up until 1846. This is now
producing organic flour to the local bakery. This is a delightful
village with some great art and craft stores to wander around and has
over 50 historic cottages built by convict labour. Here is a great spot for lunch.
- Your tour then leaves Oatlands after lunch and and drive down to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary to have a look at some our local animals like the Tasmanian Devil, wombats and feed kangaroos.
